In 1982, Ronnie and Sandra McGlothlin set out to build a better roofing company. Empire Roofing started with a group of eight employees working closely together. All eight employees shared a home office, dividing duties to get the job done. Teamwork was key from the very beginning, with each person contributing to each project. Building upon the customer-focused principles used by the nation’s successful retailers, Empire Roofing completed job after job on time and on budget.

The Empire Roofing credo is: combine the finest products with the highest level of customer service, and do everything right the first time. The Empire Roofing customer list now includes some of the nation’s largest and most successful companies i.e. American Airlines, CBRE, Philip Morris, Kraft foods, and many other fortune 500 companies.

Empire Roofing owes its growth to hard work and word-of-mouth promotion. As satisfied commercial and industrial customers spread the word, the business grew along with its reputation for quality. By 1987, the company had hired essential and talented employees, including Matt Kelley, who today leads the company’s sales and marketing efforts.

Empire Roofing’s affiliated locations are individually owned and separately operated by long-time industry professionals, although some administrative functions are centralized. Billy Evans, with over 50 years of roofing industry experience today, started Empire Roofing’s Memphis affiliate in 1999. Empire Roofing of Austin was opened in 1997 and is currently managed by 25 year roofing industry veteran, John Dollar. In 2007 Empire Roofing Southeast was formed by Steve Pearce (32 year industry veteran) in Pompano Beach to serve the South Florida market. Most recently in 2010 Empire Roofing Company of Georgia was opened and is being run by a 34 year veteran Chris Barnett. Empire Roofing also has affiliates in San Antonio, Houston, and El Paso, TX. An international affiliate was added in 2007 by Eleazar Luna.

Over the years, Empire Roofing became not only a better roofing company, but it also became one of the best. The overwhelming response from satisfied customers has built extraordinary results that surprise even the founders, Ronnie and Sandra. Today, Empire Roofing employs over 200 people and has annual sales of $37 million. Empire sets the high standards by which others are measured, making it a leader in the industry.

Both of Sandra and Ronnie McGlothlin’s children are active in the business on a full-time basis. This is a multi-generational company that intends to provide exceptional service for many years.
